Senior Software Engineer - Foodics ERP

About the job

This is a fully remote job, open to people in Jordan.

Who Are We❓
We Are Foodics! a leading restaurant management ecosystem and payment tech provider. Founded in 2014 with headquarter in Riyadh and offices across 5 countries, including UAE, Egypt, Jordan and Kuwait. We are currently serving customers and partners in over 35 different countries worldwide. Our innovative products have successfully processed over 6 billion (yes, billion with a B) orders so far! making Foodics one of the most rapidly evolving SaaS companies to ever emerge from the MENA region. Also Foodics has achieved three rounds of funding, with the latest raising $170 million in the largest SaaS funding round in MENA, boosting its innovation capabilities to better serve business owners.

The Job in a Nutshell💡

Foodics powers thousands of restaurants across the region — point of sale, payments, inventory, and the operational backbone underneath. We're now building our own accounting platform: the layer that takes everything a merchant already does in Foodics and turns it into a clean, closed set of books, without the merchant doing the work twice.

This is a new product being built from zero by a small squad. You'll be one of the first engineers on it. The scope is real — a ledger, core accounting modules, ZATCA compliance, and deep integration into inventory, payments and the POS. The timeline is aggressive and the ambiguity is high, which is the point.

What Will You Do❓

• Design and build the core accounting product — general ledger, chart of accounts, journals, AP/AR, reconciliation, financial reporting — on our stack
• Own the integration surface: inventory, payments, POS transaction flows, and regulatory e-invoicing
• Work full stack. There is no backend-only or frontend-only seat on a team this size
• Turn accounting requirements into system design, in close partnership with a product manager and a domain accountant
• Use AI tooling as a core part of how you build — evaluating reference systems, generating and reviewing code, accelerating everything that can be accelerated
• Make architectural calls early and defend them. Financial data doesn't forgive a weak foundation
• Ship in weeks, not quarters, and put it in front of real merchants to find out what's wrong with it

What Are We Looking For❓

Required

• 5+ years building production software, with meaningful time on accounting, ERP, or financial systems — you understand double-entry, period close, and why a ledger is not just another table
• Strong full-stack engineering. Comfortable owning a feature from schema to screen
• AI-native way of working. You use agents and LLM tooling daily, you have judgment about where their output can be trusted and where it can't, and you're measurably faster because of it
• Track record of shipping fast in an early-stage or greenfield environment — small team, short cycles
• Care for correctness in systems where being wrong is expensive
• Able to work substantially within GMT+3 hours

Strong plus

• Product instinct — you don't stop at implementation, you shape what gets built alongside your Product partner
• Built or operated a ledger, double-entry engine, or transaction-processing system at scale
• Fintech, banking, payments or financial services background
• Familiarity with ERP platforms (ERPNext, Odoo, NetSuite, SAP) — as a builder, an integrator, or a serious user
• Experience with ZATCA e-invoicing or comparable regional tax and regulatory integrations
• Shipped AI-powered features, not just used AI to write code
• Arabic Speaker
